About the Federal Fire Service (FFS)

The FFS operates under the Ministry of Interior and is supervised by the Civil Defence, Fire, Immigration, and Prisons Services Board (CDFIPB).

It was established in 1986 and consists of the following departments:

  • Operations

  • Investigation, Inspectorate & Enforcement (IIE)

  • Admin & Supply

  • Finance & Accounts

  • Policy, Planning, Research & Statistics (PPRS)

  • National Fire Academy

General Requirements to Apply for Federal Fire Service Recruitment

To qualify for the FFS recruitment, you must:

  1. Be a Nigerian citizen by birth

  2. Be between 18–30 years old

  3. Have a minimum of 5 credits in WAEC/NECO/NABTEB including English and Maths

  4. Hold a valid means of identification (NIN, Voter’s Card, Driver’s License, etc.)

  5. Be physically and medically fit

  6. Not have any criminal record
