Direct Entry Short Service Commission DSSC Recruitment is a specialized recruitment program designed for qualified civilians and professionals to join the military as officers for a short period of service. The Direct Short Service Commission (DSSC) is a type of commission in the NAF that is open to both civilians and serving military personnel. The Course provides the avenue for the enlistment of degree holders who are professionals in specified fields.

DSSC Recruitment 2025 – Basic Qualifications

  • Nationality: Must be a Nigerian citizen by birth or origin.

  • Age Requirement:

    • General applicants: 20–30 years old by 27 September 2025 (i.e., born between 27 Sept 1995 and 27 Sept 2005).

    • Medical Consultants: 25–40 years old (i.e., born between 27 Sept 1985 and 27 Sept 2000).

    • Note: This exercise is not for serving personnel seeking Branch Commission.

  • Height Requirement:

    • Male: Minimum 1.66 meters

    • Female: Minimum 1.63 meters

  • Medical Fitness: Must be physically, medically, and mentally fit according to Nigerian Air Force standards.

General Academic Requirements

  • Minimum Grade:

    • Bachelor’s Degree: Second Class Upper Division

    • HND Holders: Upper Credit

  • Compulsory Subjects: Credits in English Language and Mathematics

  • NYSC: Must possess an NYSC Discharge Certificate or Letter of Exemption

  • Computer Literacy: Advantageous

  • Professional Bodies: Must have full registration (where applicable)

Training & Development

How to Apply for DSSC Recruitment 2025

1. Local Government Area Attestation Form

  • Must be signed by any of the following (from the applicant’s state of origin):

    • A military officer (minimum Wing Commander or equivalent)

    • A police officer (minimum Assistant Commissioner of Police)

    • A Local Government Chairman or Secretary

    • A Magistrate

    • A Secondary School Principal (attended by the applicant)

  • The Attestation Form must include:

    • Passport photograph of the signee

    • Photocopy of the signee’s ID (Driver’s Licence, National ID, or International Passport)

    • Authentication signature on the back of the applicant’s passport photograph

2. Presentation of Original Credentials

At the Selection Board Interview, applicants must present the following original and photocopied documents:

  • Two recent passport-sized photographs (stamped and countersigned)

  • Birth Certificate or Declaration of Age

  • Educational and/or Professional Certificates

  • Certificate of State of Origin/Indigeneship

  • Attestation of Good Character, signed by an officer of approved rank

3. Submission of Online Forms

After completing the online application, candidates must print and retain the following:

  • Acknowledgment Form
